Fed up with Britain’s winter darkness, travel power duo Kat and Simon from Hays Travel have made a bold move — launching their own time zone, KST (Kat and Simon Time).

According to the pair, KST is “like BST, but better — with a three-hour midday so everyone can actually enjoy their lunch without having to put the lights on by 3:59pm.”

The concept has already gathered national attention, with Kat explaining:

How KST Works

Under the new time system, the day starts as normal at 7am. However, between 12pm and 3pm, time simply… stops. The three-hour “Midday Pause” allows for elongated lunches, naps, dog walks, and, crucially, extra daylight. Clocks then resume at 3pm as if nothing happened — except everyone’s happier and slightly more tanned.

Businesses are reportedly “on board,” with one local café owner stating,

“If Kat and Simon say it’s lunchtime until 3, who are we to argue? We’ve sold 400 paninis today.”

The Government’s Reaction

Downing Street has yet to comment officially, though one unnamed source admitted ministers were “quietly intrigued” and had already moved their next Cabinet meeting to operate on KST.

The Public Response

Social media is ablaze. Fans are calling Kat and Simon “the heroes Britain needs this winter,” while others are already asking if KST can be applied to Mondays, Christmas shopping, and all of January.
